RQT Programme

Following the success of the RQT Programme in 2020-21 and whilst the ECF is slowly transitioning, we are pleased to confirm that we will be facilitating the TRI RQT programme once again in 2021-22.

The programme will be centred around both personalised and group coaching of RQTs as they work on personalised projects to develop their classroom pedagogy.

The thinking behind the programme is strongly influenced by Daniel Pink’s book ‘Drive’. We are trying to ensure that as we guide the development of our RQTs, they have a degree of autonomy in choosing which area of their professional practice they choose to develop; they achieve a higher level of mastery in their chosen area and also that there is a clear sense of purpose in improving the quality of their teaching and consequently the quality of their students learning.

The work of Andy Buck and specifically his Basic Coaching Method has also strongly influenced the programme with the method outlined in the graphic below:

The Programme

Over the course of the year, the RQT programme will look like that outlined in the model below based on plan-do-review cycles supported by coaching conversations with the RQT’s coach.
